The year of cinema in Seville

After the European Film Festival, Seville hosts this week the European Film Awards. And also the "Goya Awards" (Spanish Academy Film Awards), in January.

'Festival de Sevilla'

For 15 years, Seville has hosted the most important 100% European film festival. The Festival de Sevilla is a demonstration of how the city has a special relationship with the magical world of celluloid, and even more so with the auteur cinema and the productions made in Europe.

For the Festival de Sevilla have passed cinema legends such as Milos Forman, Agnés Varda, Peter Greenaway, Paolo Taviani, Stephen Frears, Andrzej Wajda, Nikita Mikhalkov, With Stillman, and Vittorio Storaro.

The European Cinema Awards

Festival de Sevilla had the framework chosen by the European Film Academy (EFA) to announce the nominees of the European Film Awards. But this year, in addition, Seville will host the Gala of these awards. It will be on December 15 at the Teatro de la Maestranza.

The European Film Awards will be presented this year in Seville.

The Goya Ceremony will be in Seville

It seems as if Murillo had yielded the witness to Goya. The Spanish cinema will hold its great annual gala next february in Seville.

The Spanish Academy Film Awards ("Goya Awards") arrives in Seville. It comes back in a city increasingly familiar with the seventh art. Many of its enclaves go around the world as scenes of films and first-rate series, and cinema made in Seville wins prestige with local directors such as Alberto Rodríguez (author, among other productions, of 7 virgins, La isla mínima or La Peste):

To keep in mind...
  1. Seville has a special relationship to art, it is the cradle of universal teachers of painting, poetry, and increasingly, film directors.
  2. The Goya Awards will be held on the 2nd of February 2019, at the FIBES, Conference and Congress Centre of Seville.

  3. This will be the 33rd edition of the Goya Awards.
