Under the vanguard, Antiquity

It was inaugurated on March 27, 2011 and consists of the most important archaeological site that remains from the Roman period in Seville, which was found after a first excavation in the square in the 1990s in order to build a subway parking and remodel the square, a project that was aborted after the discovery. Within the complex is the area corresponding to the 1st to 6th centuries, which belongs to the Roman period, in which the mosaics of the Roman House, the House of the Nymph and the House of Bacchus stand out, as well as a three-meter mural in the Ocean Courtyard. It also has the House of the Column, which contains the mosaic of the Medusa, the House of the Basas, the House of the Sigma, the House of the Noria and the Hospitium of the Dolphins.

A second area corresponds to the Andalusian period of the city (XII-XIII centuries), which highlights an Islamic Almohad house. It also preserves information from the Middle Ages, Modern and Contemporary Ages. The space has an open-plan area of 4,879 square meters and is presented as a center of interpretation of the history of Seville.
