The Puerta de Jerez is one of the main pedestrian squares in Seville, gateway to the city's sights. Its name comes from the old gate of Jerez which used to be on this site, one of the main accesses through the city walls, and leading to the road from Seville to Jerez de la Frontera.
The square has a wealth of beautiful constructions, such as the Fuente de Híspalis, right in the middle; the Hotel Alfonso XIII, of regionalist style, built for the 1929 Exposition; the Palace of Yanduri, influenced by the French tradition and built in the early 20th Century; the Guardiola House; and the Chapel of Santa María de Jesús.
In recent years, the space has been pedestrianised, connecting the square to the Cristina Gardens, becoming a lovely area for the enjoyment and recreation of passersby.

The Puerta de Jerez is a large pedestrianised space consisting of a large square with a fountain in the middle surrounded by benches and trees, that provides visitors a place to enjoy the city's warm weather.
Next to the square, and connected by pedestrianised walkways, are the Cristina Gardens, a landscaped area which was recently restored and modernised, including pergolas, a new fountain and paths that have turned the space into a new venue to host outdoor activities and events.
This space is both versatile and spacious, which make the perfect combination to host large exhibitions, product launches or promotional activities. Additionally, it is located in a strategic spot of the city and it is very easy to get to, as there is an underground station and a tram stop in the square itself.
